Newsmagazine report by Claas Meyer-Heuer from Rikuzentakata, the town which suffered the most deaths and missing from the tsunami. Most will never be found. Interviews of cousins both of whom lost their mothers, a survivor who lost her husband, a family hoping to stay. All patients and staff on the first 3 floors of the local hospital were washed away. Shot, edited, and fed via satellite flyaway unit.

Followup report from Rikuzentakata, featuring volunteer fire department team leader Yuichi Owada, who captured frightening scenes of the tsunami on his mobile phone. He points out a community centre where 150 took refuge and only 3 survived. Families flock to a makeshift morgue at a school, where lists are posted of the deceased whose names are known. A factory manager, whose staff of 6 were washed away, looks in vain for anything by which to remember them. 3 young women meet after 11 days not knowing whether or not the others were alive. Sufficient food and water has arrived for 1,300 people relocated in a school gymnasium.
